What is the ACT container deposit scheme (ACT-cds) ?
The ACT Container Deposit Scheme (ACT CDS) is a recycling program where you can return eligible empty drink containers and receive a 10-cent refund for each. It aims to reduce litter and encourage recycling in the Australian Capital Territory. This initiative is a fantastic way to help both the environment and Little Wings. Every 10-cents can make a huge difference for a family living in the ACT who needs care at hospitals that are just too far to reach by car.

How does it work?
The ACT CDS is as simple as three steps that go towards making a big impact
Steps
Step 1:
Collect eligible drink containers
Save all bottles and cans with the 10c refundable icon on the label. Remember 20 bottles equals 1 litre of fuel for Little Wings!

Step 2:
Take containers to your local return point or skip the trip, ReCollect will come to you
The ACT Container Deposit Scheme now has a mobile collection service called ReCollect. Wherever you are in Canberra, book a pick-up with ReCollect to recycle your drink containers and receive or donate 7c for each.
Simply download the free ReCollect app and book a collection

Step 3:
Donate your funds to Little Wings either at a return point or with the easy to use app.
Option 1
- At Drop & Go points, pods and depots, you can drop off your containers and donate your container refunds to Little Wings. Please note donations are available at any return point except reverse vending machines.
Option 2
- Donate through the ReCollect app with Little Wings as your nominated charity.ReCollect is a convenient service that picks up containers from your home or organisation, requiring the use of their app for scheduling collections. This option is ideal for bulk containers as a stress-free way to have them collected.

Who you are supporting

Introducing Robert, 10 years old from the ACT. Robert has been flying with Little Wings since 2022 while he battles a chronic condition. When Robert was just 7-years-old, he was diagnosed with leukaemia and with no specialist services locally, he was referred to the team at Westmead Children's Hospital, a 4-hour journey from home by car. Robert was soon referred to Little Wings and has been flying ever since to access his treatment to help fight his condition. Your generosity helps us keep kids like Robert in the air and to their care.
