Sometimes a bond is so fierce between two souls that they stop the world spinning for just a moment… this is Katara and her beautiful mum.

Katara is 2 years old and has been diagnosed with cancer in both eyes. Living four hours away by road from her medical team at The Children's Hospital at Westmead, and with extremely limited travel options, her heartbreaking diagnosis placed enormous pressure on the family, until they were referred to Little Wings.

Four hours door-to-door became one hour.

Zero local specialists became a diverse team providing lifesaving treatment.

Suddenly, this little family had hope that their precious girl could thrive with the right intervention, the best medical team, consistent access to healthcare, and a little love along the way.

Who would have thought that one little plane, a tribe of volunteers, and the support of the community could make all of this possible
